Read the first post, on the first page of this thread.
If your lock or/and chain aren't there, then they're not up to the standard perceived to be good enough. -

Another point about having two locks is that it stops thieves trying to break the lock by turning your bike upside down and mullering the frame.
Each to their own. Still bad advice IMO.I´ve never told you not to use 2 locks I just posted my opinion on bike securing. That´s my opinion and you have yours! That´s fine for me.
But how about using 2 Krypto M18 and an alarmed disc lock? It´s just 7 kgs! ;) -

This is not the best forum for those that are sensitive to robust language.
I didn´t criticize you, made just a comment and I´m certainly not "sensitive to robust language". I´m just not used to it.
But I can´t deny the impression, that some of you guys don´t like a foreigner (even a German) posting in your London forum!

Perhaps because it's called London FGSS?
Don't be silly, English ain't as big xenophobes as Aussies.

Proves my point. Noboby hates Germans on here.
Despite Oliver Schick snatching the last free seat at Niall's wedding. I'm sure he had a towel in his rucksack.

- I don't leave light attached to my bike
- There's a huge chance it will be stolen within the first 10 mins
- Pro bike thieves will know about it - they are present on cycling forums (even they don't get Oliver's puns)
I will just pop an old iPhone in the aero seatpost.

It's a good idea and I'm sure we will see a lot more solutions like this to come. Personally I would rather have the tracker hidden in the stem, seatpost or seat tube.
Perhaps with electronic shifting we could convince Campagnolo and Shimano to pop a system like this in the battery case. Did you know that they monitor this forum?

Daylight robbery. Meh.

At least youd be able to recover your light when some toerag knocks it off.

look like an angle grinder.
it's a NY3000, not a Fah, nor the long version of it.

Interesting. Its cut, but not twisted. Only the thinnest tubed frame could squeeze through there...with a bit of elbow grease. A fat alu frame wouldn't get through there. If the lock had been twisted open after the cut, it should be on the ground. Maybe the legitmate owner cut it, having lost their last remaining key. Strange.

Maybe it was just locking a spoke :)

Have been following this thread for a while. to be honest reading it has set my paranoia off big time but am pretty settled on the Krypto NY mini for now.
Question is will i have issues locking through the deep rims of my new Charge Racer?
Was going to combine it with the Granit X Plus 54 as well. Maybe even a padlock alarm.

Have a look in Evans or Cycle Surgery to gauge Fahg's dimensions. Likely to be a squeeze if you've got deep Vs.

I've got a kryptonite mini and it fits through backwheel (deep V rim) and seat tube to regular (sheffield?) bike stand no problem. The parallel bits on the lock can't quite fit through at a right angle to the bike if that makes sense, but there's definitely enough room to lock it properly. And I don't think the NY is any smaller than the mini is it?

Went to Evans yesterday and price matched on a NY 3000, Evolution mini and a Lezyne pump. Saved about £50 :)
Considering taking the Evolution back to be honest as i was hoping it would get round the frame front wheel and railing etc but doubt it.
Can someone please advise me about my lock. I have an old Kryptonite New York chain, it's a good few years old now - it came with one of those yellow mini u disk/padlocks that became renowned for being able to open with a bic pen. Obviously I've ditched this padlock but how good is the chain? I'm now using it with a Squire Stronghold SS65CS Padlock. The chain is a noose type and is fairly short - 27" in total so quite short when noosed. The whole thing (chain and lock) weighs 2.75kgs!
I don't live in London and rarely need to lock my bike in unsafe areas but wonder how my lock would hold up in a thieving hotbed such as our dear Capital City.
Basically I'm asking - Rate my Lock?
Ta.
