Those cleats'll work, you could also look for SM-SH51 (single-release) cleats. I've only ever used the single-release version, so can't tell you what the relative pros/cons are. I think Snoops looked into it in a bit more detail.
As for shoes, look for MTB ones rather than road, then select according to comfiness on your feet, looks and price.
