Btw 'Pay it forward' was a film based on the concept that if one person undertook to extend a random act of kindness to three people and then each of those three people did the same thing to three others and so on, eventually everyone would be helping each other and it would make the world a better place. Not disappointed. Of course it's just my opinion, I certainly wouldn't expect everyone to agree.

What I don't agree with your post, is the way you say "...it's retarded...", "...Essentially they've taken something fun and turned it into over intellectualized, self aggrandising twaddle..." and "...If they we're just having fun it'd be grand...".
There's no way you can be sure they're not having fun, i would.
Retarded, maybe. But so is to build bikes, post them online and expect people to praise you because of it.
And for last, if we all agree that building forts can be something pleasant to do with your time, even if their intentions are
over intellectualized, self aggrandising twaddle, I'm fucking glad they've done it. When was the last time we spoke about
building forts, or even admitted to do it. They look nothing but middle-upper-class-more-money-than-talent examples of young humans,
but at least their focus is far from harmful... who fucking cares, at least they're not shooting smack up their veins.
Makes me sad that people building forts and jumping off a cliffs (and I don't care if they're wearing unprescripted specs), are called retarded (which they are,
in a good way), but a bunch of guys naming themselves "Jackass" get famous for being absolute dicks, proper examples of human decay. And not funny BTW.
