• kevin, i don't know. i have a brake, but my riding style is brakeless i guess, in the sense that i view the brake as being for emergencies, e.g. i didn't use it at all on the marathon ride. i think it's more important that people behave predicatbly and with more checking behind/around them and signalling than usual because on a group ride the gaps between us are smaller.

    i agree that there was some lax etiquette and the odd moment of erratic or inconsiderate riding but i don't think that's primarily a brake issue. if there is some specific incident you're referring to, i didn't see/hear about it
