[/highlight]*Rail Replacement Service*No pain train this week; I'm down in Dorset sneaking in a recce-run on the local TT course while pretending to be with my family for pre-Easter.
Slackers rejoice!
Instead, a rail replacement service will be in operation.Thursday, 1830hrs for 1845 departure at the large gate opposite York Bridge, Inner Circle. Then up and out for some anti-clockwise Outer Circle fun.
>20mph average, but if you can't hold on, worry not! Form your own little pootle-bus for light relief. Lap times are irrelevant, but there's a possible slow lap/rolling rest after the first 4. Stop after 8 laps/22 miles. Or earlier, if you're a slacker (no shame in that). A little bit of a rest, then off to LMNF for recovery.-----limit of 6pt's responsibility-----

- ThreadBreaker (also cheating)

I didn't manage to get my name down for this Thursday's ride and was wondering if I should have just come along anyway as there seems to be quite a big dropout rate and we also get split up anyway.

ah you should always just come along. the cap is arbitrary, the more the merrier.

I'm hoping for everyone to keep together, and take turns on the front next week. Very keen to get this a bit more organised for the slackers. Seems like everyone (except brave) are about the same level so should work!
p.s. people on geared should take twice as long on the front ;)

I no cheating.. this is what coach has planned for me to do.. The hour of power seems to suit this.. I don't mind sitting on the front at all..
do 4x30sec spin ups off :30 + 4x1min at 10TT intensity approx off 1:00 easy spin then:
5min best power average TT. Hold best power in legs and best average effort (don't worry about heart rate). The goal is to focus on hitting a very hard sustained effort in your aero position or on your drops.
The goal is to get your time trialling ability up so that you can breakaway from the pack and / or lift your time trialling power.
Once finished ride 15min tempo heart rate zone 3.
Then cool down long! -
• #1041
This whole coach lark sounds a lot more informed and useful than my "maintain ~threshold for an hour, pushing yourself in to the red to keep with people who sprint/overtake" approach.

- lots. We kept a pretty decent train last night but the swapovers were a bit random. We gave that geared guy some respite on the back before he dragged us for most of a lap.
Not forgetting Woodie's epic red mist tow because he thought it was the last lap. On lap 7....

At least we will have the perfect demonstration of the doppler effect as he pulls away from us whistling all the way...
well that was interesting, 69" SSCX set-up and I had no chance of holding onto anyones wheel for more than a couple of hundred yards.
thanks Tom for dragging me along to Look Mum for a couple of beers, good to meet Cupcakes(lulz), Marcus and Michael too, a good start to my sojourn in London town.
