I have a pair of Bontrager shoes, and have had them for about eight months. Having tried them on in the shop, they fitted fine and felt good. However, after about 25mins riding I get a real hotspot / pain on the outside of my right foot. I have tried a bit of fiddling with cleat position and strap tightness but to no avail. I am beginning to resign myself to just having to buy a different pair of shoes. I don't suffer from it on my Sidi road shoes, so am thinking I'll get a pair of dominators.
Before I do though, can anyone offer any possible solutions? Or do I need to HTFU and get over the fact that the Bontrager last isn't any good for my feet? Is there any way of predicting when trying on shoes?
