  • Is anyone on Talk mobile? Is it shit?

This deal is looking pretty tasty for a Desire S
    http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/buy/HTC-DESIRE-S-T254N-FCON

  • Carphonewarehouse connectivity deals are notorious for being poor. I dont know about TalkMobile, but I'd be very careful about signing up to anything they offer.

Just checked their details. 25MB a day??!! Thats complete shit! My tariff is 10GB a month (that approx 330MB per day), from T-Mobile (its an old tariff, no longer available), and 3 is offering even better than mine. I'd run a mile from that TalkMobile tariff.

Oh yes, the TalkMobile 12-24 month is still a paltry 1GB per month. Whoop-de-fucking-do.

  • 10GB! wow, most 'I've seen are only 500mb-1gb per month.

I don't have an internet phone so have no idea what these numbers actually mean in terms of browsing.

  • I only have my phone connection for internet use, via wi-fi hotspot. I use it for everything. Its good, and impressively fast. If I leave T-Mobile, I'll be straight off to 3. Value-for-money, and large download allowance.

  • 3 suck balls tho...

  • Agreed.

  • anyone got a fat32 formatted usb hard drive I can borrow for a couple of days, want to swap out the hard drive on my ps3, and need to copy everything across and my how to guide says you need to copy onto a fat32 formatted hard drive.

so anyone got one I can grab this week. I'm off work so can come grab it from you. Let me know..

  • Little Photo seems like a good app.

  • so its getting closer toty he summer releases of handsets so wanted to get everyones view on stuff before upgrading...

IMO the only ones worth buying are the sam Galaxy s 2 or the HTC sensation

anyone have any views on these handsets... i have been leaning toward the galaxy for some time purely because of the screen quality but the screen on the htc is now qhd so also v good... anyone have an opinion on which they would go for?

  • I'm interested as well. Altho there might be a few more out by sept.

  • And Ashe, that's my new fave photo app, (and I had paid vignette)

  • I think spybot recommended this too, I will have to have a play.

Thats pretty fun... just tried it at my desk

    slow day

  • It's a.classic, a work of art. I've got to have it. How do you want? I can only pay in grannies.....
as I have more than I need, plus everybody needs a nan. Win-Win. :D

  • Angry Birds - Where the pigs are the enemies?

    Or

Aporkalypse - Where the pigs are the good guys?

I'm enjoying Aporkalypse, but do keep returning to Angry Birds from time to time.

  • I'll be upgrading my phone soon as my contract with orange is due for renewal, and wondering what would be a good upgrade from the HTC Tattoo. Been quite happy with the Tattoo actually, the only improvements I'd like is a slightly faster internet connection (processor?) and a slightly bigger screen. So I'm looking at the Desire and the Wildfire. Would I need to go to the Desire to get noticeably faster internet than the Tattoo, or would the Wildfire also be better?

  • Is there a way to delete pre-installed apps like amazon mp3 and voice search? I never use them and they keep opening up. I can't find the default setting to off. Have app killer, but they don't stay shut for long.

Defintely skip the Wildfire if you want an upgrade from the Tattoo. The screen is small and the CPU is slower. Go with the Desire or the Desire HD.

I think you need to be rooted - then you can use something like Titanium backup to remove system apps.

Cheers. Sounds rude. Know how to do it and will it mean a factory reset?

    just a bit oo-er-missus!

It used to be quite an involved process, but looks a lot easier now. i've heard a lot of good things about one click root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682.

yes, it probably will involve a factory reset im afraid.....

Amazon mp3 isn't a service to my knowledge so it should never run unless you open it. It's also a market app so should be uninstallable. Voice Search (Google's) is a market install so it should be removable.

Which phone do you have? DHD has Amazon MP3 pre-installed so you'd need to root it.

Menu > Settings > Application Settings > Manage applications and see if you can kill it and uninstall it from there.

Dell Streak. Been through every menu, downloaded additional deletion apps and still the bastard things keep opening. I have opened them before to see what they did, but never used either. Don't remember installing them and not sure if they were part of the last software upgrade as I had the phone for a day before upgrading.
I only have options to force close. Uninstall is greyed out. Seems to open voice search and or voice dialler when I make a call and amazon mp3 when I use kindle or any google apps and occasionally internet via wifi. Only started last month, which makes me think it's an upgrade applied to a google app. Sneaky
