I am loving fallout NV, it's like a huge playground that actually make it hard for you to cross desert without the right levels and weapon, as of now I'm doing the old weapon factory to investigated the outbreak of ghoul.

Have you met the Deathclaws yet? They're much tougher than in Fallout 3, and you need some srsly heavy weapons to take them out.

I found Annabelle fairly early on, the unique rocket launcher, and they will absorb 3 high explosive rockets.

I've managed to get in New Vegas after a long detour, did went to try and fight the Deathclaws with companion, but still bloody hard to kill them.

Managed to kill the young one with moderate effort, the large one is just overkill.

I push my speech up to 60+, as it seemed that it have the majority of effect on everyone I've met.

I actually prefer to have foes more powerful than me, means you have to play a bit more stealthily.

I FINALLY found someone selling the suppressor for the sniper rifle. Combined with AP ammo it's lethal from range.

i'm still trying to find upgrade for my favourite weapon - the cowboy repeater.

playing infamous, and have gone into battle with some flaming, rock, metal monster, and can't figure out a way to hurt it let alone kill it, left the game there and went to sleep.
Its a bit odd to come back to a game after a long layoff and have to figure out all the controls again. Last time I played it I could have sworn I was able to fly, or produce gust of air to keep me afloat for longer when I jump off a roof, can I figure out how to do it now, can I buggery..

@photoben - may not be the case now but years back when I was in high school you could always find old SNES & NES games mega-cheap at cash converters. Failing that you can get massive bundles for chips on fleabay. Might even be worth checking freecycle.

Damnit, I really need to update FNV, think I got a glitch when trying to isolate the viruses in the Brotherhood's computer, already got parititoned, but that's all I can do.

just ordered Fallout New Vegas for my xbox.

I'm doing a lovefilm 2 week free trial for the cashback and I put the game on my rental list as I've been wanting to try it out since it was first announced.

the past two nights I've been up until 2am creeping around the wasteland trying to not get killed by things much deadlier than myself and so far it plays just as well as FO3 which is one of my favourite games of all time so I figure it warranted a proper purchase. especially as Asda direct have it for £13 at the moment.

funniest moment so far encountering a blind deathclaw at primms pass and running like fuck stimpacking as I went to get away from it. had to jump off a cliff to get enough of a headstart on it, then I hid in abandoned building waited until I was [hidden] again. came out, he was still waiting so I ran like fuck again straight into a gang who also started chasing me until I managed to reach an armed outpost where I hid out until the heat died down.

must say I miss my lvl30 unarmed killing machine with a lethal deathclaw glove from FO3 though :(

My character was a total beast at the end of Fallout 3. In the DLC with a big army base (can't remember the name) I was just strutting around killing everything and anything. 6 tooled up heavily armoured marines? No worries. I think the slightly over the top skill was the one where your VATS points were totally refilled if you got a kill while in VATS. Great fun though.

I also had a lot of love for the deathclaw glove

it's the tipping point where you go from shitting your pants when you see a deathclaw to strolling around old olney or whatever it was called without a care in the world.

the ghoul mask was worth fucking over tenpenny towers for as well as it meant you didn't have to piss about with ghouls every time you went into the subways.
