but if I were to go for a decent budget wheel, it'll be either the Mavic Akisum or the Shimano R500.
Aksiums are nice, but R500s are literally half the price. For a temporary wheel, the Shimano has it.

Excuse the use of a bar end shifter on the downtube but couldn't wait

So cheap it's unreal.

Shimano wheelbuilding sweatshop yesterday.
You think the Romanian factory building Aksiums is any better than the Malaysian one building R500s?

Well it looks more colourful at least.

The man speaks the truth, aksiums seem to hold their value pretty well. I managed to pick up a set of R550s for £50 in great condition.

I've had this Claud Butler fifties lugless frame for a few years now, picked up some chrome forks on here for it but period parts are hard to find so I am building it anyway.
Peter Elliott at Welling Cycles has cut the forks down for me just need a seat pin and saddle really to ride it.
Just put these wheels in for the photo, I do have some early champagne colour anodised sprint rims to go in.

lovely frame and a great colour
Ernest - a really lovely build, but Christ that looks uncomfortable, no wonder the seat is so far forward. You must have arms of a gorilla to reach the levers there!

@ theoryswine like it, big chainring, what cog?. @ fixedwheelnut, good use of random scottie dog garden furniture.

I have a CB frame similar to yours, did you repaint it? if so, where did you get the decals from?

New bike. NOS Diamant, bought from rih. Transplanted everything over from my Rourke, treated it to new chainring, chain, tyres and bars.

I found him to be pretty unhelpful and rude.
One of the decals I had off him ended up being a nightmare to clearcoat. It was a "H = hand finished" headbadge and it couldnt be used with acrylic clearcoat. The downtube ones seemed ok tho -

Ballpark figure? (i'm guessing four of them)
Not quite! But you can add another £255 over the price of the usual Mercian respray price.

:o.
We had a Scientology poster, a Buddha and a life size cut out of Laurence Delaglio up on the wall, but they've all gone missing over the last 2years.
@Casablanka I've seen 2 concordes this colour, but that's the first Ciocc, makes sense what with them being made by Ciocc. I think it's a fucken rad colour scheme, not quite as nuts as their unicorn vomit one...

Just got this back from Argos Cycles after 9 months of both me and them faffing around not getting it done.
It's a Condor Pista EOM 2006, i bought it here on the forum.
they've filled a small ding, removed the cable guides from the top tube, and filled the back brake bridge. The fork is a deda blackforce, that's also been painted ( obviously).
I'm very pleased with how it's come out - it's 99.9% how i specced it. It's the first bike i've had painted, and it's come out so much better than i hoped.

At least someone likes it.
Yep these are super cheap and they're built with DB spokes.
I don't think they'll be 1600g though will they? Not as stiff or aero as the Mavics either (if that's a concern).
