Out of the shower, into bed and dreading the morning aches!
What a lovely day - the combination of being able to stretch my legs when I had a bit of energy and then hang back knowing there was no chance of droppage was great.
Hope the guy who got the slow train so he could get off at Finsbury Park and then left his bag on his train got reunited with it at Kings Cross!

you were asleep when I went past you at the top of brick lane, Iain, I nearly rode into you before you realised.
also I'm so fucking jealous of you guys, it was the perfect day for it. -

just got in in from this ride as part of the last 4 to leave cambridge, this was my first forum ride and great time was had. BIG thanks top skully for arranging (despite his modesty at not wanting any credit), also major thanks to hoefla for the cambridge recommendations and the escort back to the station after beers at an excellent pub where i could leave my spangly bike without even locking it (a novelty in itself), you star, and to all the other riders. Also to jimbilly, stripe, and dropout for the entertaining company on the way home. hope to see you all out again soon.

ack, I wish I had been a bit more clueful and marshalled a more scenic route to the millpond, dint realise we were heading for the main rd til too late, and sorry (esp joe and betty) for the momentary chaos at the junction, but everyone made it in the end. Hope to see you up here in the not too distant future now you know the way...

What a fucking day! Everyone made it a top day. I'd forgotten how much fun this ride is.
To everyone there, thanks and to everyone who wants to do it, get on and give it a go! Hope to ride with everyone again soon.
Also the last time I done this ride was with 2 people I think should get a mention: Stu aka mini cooper who has had to go back to oz, sir you were missed, and Paul aka 50/14, who would have loved the ride today but I'm sure he was with us and probably had something to do with us taking a while to get out of London, the old bugger!
Anyway, I have dinner awaiting, hope to see you all soon, jimbilly xx

Shit luck with the frame Rowan.....
I'm sure Argos can replace a seat tube for about £80 and then you will have an excuse to get a new paint job!I doubt they have a NOS Columbus air seat tube with round top section lying about, And i already got them to paint it exactly how i want, two-pack stove enamel racing green with gold decals :{

Hope you guys had a nice ride today. I was enviously thinking how nice it would be to be riding whilst wasting time on public transport with friends today. There is no hope for them...

It was soooooo cool! LOVED my first forum ride and my first ride over 10 miles riding fixed. Who needs gears?! Thanks everyone!
Krz and nellai and all the Kates ( and variations!) let's do the next Tuesday night ride! -

Alpine Kate - you'll get to meet Jenny J who was missed (along with her Oscar) if you do TNRC! I don't intend to do it until I've put in some hill rides with Joe Smiff so I know what to expect with hills.

Ahhhhh yes, Slept like a baby last night! I feel sort of proud of myself, that was the first long-ish ride I have done. You would have thought I would have done one after three years of hanging around with you mugs. The day couldn't have been more perfect. I like the way no one noticed (at all) while I was choking on a piece of soreen and vomiting strawberries and water all over the green by Mill Pond, had I died it would have been a perfect day to exit this mortal coil. Chew your soreen before swallowing it, Thats all I need to say!

I'd like to say well done to Will and Alex. From looking totally wiped out at about half way and a bit "oh shit", to finishing with big smiles and tired eyes at the end.
And thanks to Matt (nowhere) for remembering from the last trip to Cambridge where exactly the end point was.
I'm also a bit sad I didn't see CB fall off. I thought Bike + CB = fall. Clearly, that's not always true.

I kept saying to myself: What would day-Moe Do?

No longish ride out of London is ever bigger than 30, no matter how many sign up...
Trufax
How many did we have in the end? Must have been more than 30!
I'd like to say well done to Will and Alex. From looking totally wiped out at about half way and a bit "oh shit", to finishing with big smiles and tired eyes at the end
Big +1, awesome effort guys.
I thought Bike + CB = fail.
Bit harsh ;)

Excellent ride. Thanks to everyone. :)

lovely day, legs feel very tender today, but in a good way.
Remember people check your cleat bolts, losing one and then having the other come loose is a way to have your shoe stay connected to your pedal and you to walk along as if you are enclosed in a very drunken alk of shame...Had a great time. Long rides are fun, but the long exhausted sleep I had when I returned home showed how much I need to get back out and do more of this..
Last head count we were upto 54 people.
