emphasis on the word 'provisional'. There will be no madison on 22nd May.
this meeting went as far as asking British Cycling for a suitable date but then was abandoned for various reasons. Obviously somewhere at head office, the date remained on the provisional calendar. Sorry, guys :(

Hows this going? I heard on the grapevine that the track surface was finished and was just waiting for the fence...
-
• #112
Heard on another grapevine on Sunday that it should be ready first week in May.
-
• #113
That's a knowledgeable grapevine!
Thats cool. As far as I can see the only thing booked there for the year is the youth omnium on 21st May.

all on track, scuse the pun ,the L.A are being cautious saying end of may, all involved start of may not least because theres our track specific training to run on the second weekend of may. Theres a nice path of blacktop around the entire perimeter today, waiting for the railing

Where is the track located? Got a postcode?

Just as an indicator for HH does anyone know how long the surfacing of the track took?
-
• #122
the opening date is now 01 july. ,major construction work is now complete, railings around the perimeter are in place, other associated work like grass, final tarmaced paths just to complete
so to answer the above, the contractors are leaving the hardest bit until last, will report how long it actually takes once actually started, apparently there needs to be 2 weeks of steady dry weather for successful completion.
I hope this is the only date setback, and the people in offices sort their shit out and get the tarmacers in on the job in timely fashion.
-
• #123
I think they are probably leaving the surfacing till last because if they surface it every man and his dog will be jumping the fence trying to ride it. Plus it give the best chance for a good weather window.

Thanks for the update.
BC should try and get a bulk discount from Tarmac as they'll be surfacing Bournmouth and Herne Hill pretty much back to back.
So will the Youth Omnium be rescheduled?

**Poole Wheelers Track Omnium Cancelled - ***posted 21st April 2011*Poole Wheelers Youth Track Omnium - 21st May - The above Southern Area National series round has had to be cancelled as despite the efforts of a significant number of parties from within the sport, the facility will not be ready until after the window allowed for the running of rounds within this competition. Series regulations dictate that as there are now only four rounds left in this series in the south, only the best two points scores will now count towards the overall ( as opposed to the original three).
