Oh, right - I get it. You're a fan of Cannondale's - you could have just said something, Neil ;)
As a side note - I follow Penguin books on twitter and everytime they tweet I think it's you. #toomuchtimeontheforum

At this stage I'd probably hang it on the wall- I freely admit to not having a use for it.
I'm just a fan of the carbon/alloy Cannondale's- they were (possibly) the apogee of Cannondale's frame making.
I have a real love for over designed frames, especially those which combine different materials. I put a few silly bids in for a carbon/steel serotta on Ebay, and before I built the fixed, I was looking into buying a Carbon/steel Lemond Zurich. The way BMC combined alu and carbon on the SLX01, really appeals to the nerd in me. Ultimately these hybride material frames are tad heavier, and dont really offer much in the way of real world benifits, like they claim, but heyho.
This EBay listing for a SLX01 has a real bike-nerd-porn description of the frameset.

I was bidding on a Coeur D'Acier. The version with a carbon chain stays. In deep navy blue with off white banding. If I had won with my highest bid.......well........[rasin face meme]

Barrell adjusters/cable stops.
The ones on my frame are goosed and I can't get them out (HOW TO?)Are these what I need?
Can I just use them as guides and add inline adjusters http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/ritchey-ritchey-cable-tension-barrel-adjusters-prod15729/?src=froogle
Or do I need them at all? -
• #1116
What exactly is broken?
Do you have threaded braze-ons for screwing in barrell adjusters? If so just buy new ones and screw them in. Being able to adjust indexing from the bars is'nt essential. But they do fit the cable outers well to give decent shifting.

You don't need them but they are very handy for stretched cables.

They won't budge.

Thats a standard screw in barrel adjuster availible from your LBS for £5 a pair or something. So the ideal thing would be to get some needle nose pliers on it and remove it (without damaging threads).
The alternative is to leave it be. the bit that acts like a cable stop will still work, and you can fine tune your indexing at the mech. Just not while riding (which is the whole point of DT/HT mounted ones).
Those Ritchey ones are not threaded as they are meant to be fitted at the STI lever. If you have a knackered old mech lying around the adjuster on that should fit as a frame adjuster (could ask on here)

^ what he said.
My frame with internal cabling has no adjusters except the rear mech which only gets touched when I change wheels. I can't recall ever using the adjusters on bike that has them. -

They be stuck in real good.
They will not defaet me.

But if you give your bike the once over every now and again you dont really need thm.
My commuter is currently indexed perfectly................a full cog too low.
Smallfurry = decent virtual mechanic, shite real world mechanic.

Spray them with WD40 etc. and walk away before the hammer/big drill comes out.

It needs new forks too. They have been cut too short.
Not all bargains are as they seem.
Do you still have walls?
