  • Getting cheapo copies of software is piss easy. I bought a copy of photoshop and indesign for the company i work, as we do training I phoned up Adobe to find out if we could get discount as an education institution, I was expecting to have to go through loads of red tape to have to prove that was what we did. But no, all Adobe wanted was a scan of any photo ID that belonged to the staff member buying it (you can't buy a copy as a company but you can as a staff member) and a note on headed paper saying that you worked there.
If I were an unscrupulous person I would suggest that all you needed to do to get 80% off a legit copy is to kock up a staff ID and a nice letter for yourself from a fake company.
but i'm not so i would never suggest that.

EDIT: as tester said, they're probably happy to get a bit of money rather than none
