  • A five star hotel is great for holidays. When you are essentially sleeping there, 1 or 5 star has little difference. Whilst in a location where you are resented and envied in equal measure it is difficult to enjoy the benefits of your 5 stars particularly when there is little to do and not much option to "take in the local sights or culture". During my time overseas I probably averaged a 70 hour week, which I really don't believe was appreciated or believed by the Uk based staff. All any one ever saw was "wow loads of money, international travel and 5 star hotels". This was part of the reason I gave it up, along with wishing to spend time with my family. I do not regret my time overseas, Although I am glad I gave it up, additionally Saudi and Nigeria were low points that made me decide that I would only travel, on my account, but you do need to work in some sh**holes to gain experience, please the company, and get the jobs in the carribean. Work is never all roses.
