Cranks have been converted to cotter pins. Originally would have had keyed cranks. They are also correctly known as Old Ordinaries or Highwheelers. Some of the later high end machines are an absolute joy to ride with The Rudge and Humber Racer models being notable examples. Unfortunately, Highwheelers are a much derided without just cause.
