Marktplaats
This Dutch auction site is some kind of swamp, but in our country it's the place to be for used and new stuff. Mainly for used stuff between consumers, but also new goods and from and to dealers/traders.
Ebay is very limited, all goes via Marktplaats.
Shipping bikes: I think the guess of 1/6 is rather optimistic.
Posting components is usually no problem, since this is also the most popular way of exchanging goods from Dutch to Dutch people.
Even less people take Paypal. Almost everything via bank transfer. For us, that's always FOC within the EU.
Note that on Markplaats there's no buyer or seller protection at all, so people need to have a lot of confidence in each other or willing to gamble a bit.
Best way is still pick up and pay cash.
Always Dutch people here willing to help you out with bidding, communication, picking up, sending and payment.
As mentioned before, most Dutch are able to read and write some English. Not perfectly, but manageable.
