Not sure this is the right place for this but heh ho!
It was an oh shit moment...
I Got knocked off by a guy in a car who was queueing in stationary traffic near olympia this morning and decided that he wanted to do a u-turn the exact time I was riding next to him. Cue much swerving from me to avoid him but I had nowhere to go so the inevitable impact happened and then I flew through the air with bike and skidded across the ground (to be honest it was abit of a blur). He asks "Are you ok" to which I responded "not really". He helped me up and a couple of people came out of the bookies to help. One of them got a chair and some water for me. Then the driver took me to hospital and waited until I'd been seen and patched up. He also gave me all his details and £40 which was pretty decent of him. He was also very apologetic and very sorry for what had happened. Feel pretty shit now though. I think all the painkillers and adrenaline has finally left my system. It did shit me up pretty bad but I am very thankful that I got away with just cuts and bruises.
The moral of the story for me is doesn't matter how experienced or competent you are as a cyclist you can never account for erratic behavior. Be careful out there folks!
