The top of the seat stays are wrong for a Gios...
They should be flat and pinched at the top, its pretty but thats not a Gios.
-
• #29
this could be the gios retro. they're back in the market. taiwan made. and i think they are targeting directly to the fixed gear rider
-
• #30
This is not a Gios.

WTF, Marco takes over and is making ss fixie frames now?
"A new frontier of urban mobility. Dropouts from the track, road geometry for maximum comfort."
The GIOS brand is such a mess, although that Paris Roubaix 77 is fucking nice. -

I think Gios is not making in Italy now,
cause they sell part of company to Japanese,
that's why Gios change their strategy,
now selling cheaper frame then making profit. -
• #35
They split the company in 2.
There's the japanese one 'GIOS' that Aldo sold the rights to the name 'GIOS' and 'GIOS' logo that make the shitty entry level bikes for Asian market.
http://www.gios.it/Then there's the revamped 'Gios Torino' run by Aldo's son Marco that are made in Turin, Italy.
They produce high end aluminum/carbon/titanium frame+forks and some retro steel frames+forks also.

I have a hunch it was an italian made custom frame, or a far eastern sample frame perhaps.
The paint being is so bad though. It's was just falling off after a couple of years, and not on the tt/stays etc where it might happen through seeing lots of use. Weird.

Ja pierdole. What that frame has to with Gios is a sticker.

• #43
Feel sorry for whichever poor dziwka bought it for 400 quid..
-

Judging by the size it will rather be glupi siusiak not a dziwka.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250801533897&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:ITYou're a regular fucking Johnny Rau at heart aren't you?
'Well done' for selling a fake Gios at an over-inflated price, even when lots of perfectly reasonable objections were raised on this thread?
Trot off and do a bit of reading on ethics, or the consumer goods act even. Selling shit on here or ebay as a cinelli or whatever with no proof just because you know there's very little comeback if they discover it isn't is fucking bullshit, you dishonest cunt. And now you try and act like this idiot selling his gios is validation? DO ONE.

as I said - I put this here for my friend and everything I wrote 'bout this frameset - I heard from him.
It was his decision to put in on ebay, and someone's choice to pay given amount of money.
i'm not an expert on vintage gios bikes, so I couldn't guarantee that it was 100% genuine gios.
still I appreciate this community and loads of knowledge that can be found here and if I violated any rules or someone feels offended - I'm sorry.
and I'm not sure if those poor polish attempts were meant to offend someone or make sb laugh? -

as I said - I put this here for my friend and everything I wrote 'bout this frameset - I heard from him.
It was his decision to put in on ebay, and someone's choice to pay given amount of money. That decision was based on a description that is false though, isn't it? Meaning that they have bought a frame and parted with a lot of money when the owner neglected to tell them the truth about it and the doubts over its originality and the fact its a conversion.
What does that make your friend? Are you now embarrassed to be associated with him? You should be.

Wait, so Tomder has lied about another frame and sold it to some unsuspecting buyer on ebay??
-
• #50
No, but he sees selling a fake gios for twice the price offered here on ebay as vindication for his own rather dubious selling practices.
Hope he sticks to ebay in future seeing as he loves its capacity for mendacity so much.
