Speed is your friend at that spot. If you're anywhere near the speed of the traffic its fine.

yes i have commented on here before about the flyover.
it is awful. getting on and off it is tricky and at low level it is also full of hazards. it completely and utterly scares less confident riders. in fact it scares me at times.
i have made representations to the olympics planning people but they did not listen.
newham and stratford are blighted by the number of large transport infrastructure projects that dissect them.
if they are hoping the olympics will regenerate this area i think they will be disappointed.
imo they need to address the omniprescent danger that is the a11, the a12 and the a13.

so what is worse.
running the gauntlet of the muggers.
or running the gauntlet of the motorists whilst trying cross the a12.

so no i dont think a cycle bridge is necessarily the answer.
becuase that then is where the muggers go to mug cyclists.
or the drivers go to smash bottles so we puncture etc.

I'll take the A12 in that choice

I appreciate they needed the road there, but when Poplar was carved in two to build it, that was a crime against humanity. Mind you, the Chrisp St estates were no better.
Totally. But it could have been so much worse. Check out the 1937 London Highways Development Plan and try to get your breath back after seeing how much they wanted to knock down:

One of those new roads goes right through Sutton House ,,,

Phil, it's not the flyover so much that scares non-confident cyclists; it's the whole motorway access highway environment here and the high volumes of motor traffic. The flyover is really only a small part of that. What it does make a very significant contribution to (like the Euston Underpass, etc.) is very poor urban design and a veritable bomb crater there.

Interesting to replace "drivers" in Somebodies posts with a descriptor of other large groups of people.
Try "Women" and see how they read, for example.
+1
I used to ride over that flyover all the time, never had a near miss on there. There's plenty of room for cars and bikes, even enough room to overtake slower cyclists. Only thing you need to be extra conscious of is traffic joining at the bottom of the flyover.
