Look at this thread dredge. Look at it. Its only even tenuously related, but I figure a split is better than a merge.
Anyway, I'm sitting my driving test tomorrow arvo and naturally I expect to pass because I am so super. When I do pass, I suppose I will need a car. There are lots of cars on the bay. So far, so good, amirite? But how does buying cars off the bay actually work? I mean it's not like you can kick the tyres and take it for a spin and that. Is it all just caveat emptor? What protection is there (if any) if a car turns out to be even worse than described?
NB the cars i am looking at are all early-2000s / 1990s shitheaps with like 1.5ml engines. I only really need the thing to last for the 12 month limbo period between passing and being allowed to drive hire vehicles instead. This probably means there's more likelihood of there being something hideously wrong, of course.

I did not find any Ford Capris but I did find this fetching pink Ford Fiesta that is apparently closing in a matter of seconds: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2000-FORD-FIESTA-FINESSE-PINK-/170614873005?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item27b9705bad - edit, oh we're all too late :-( Maybe they will relist it!
