Yeah gotcha, but this is London. I honestly think that having anything less than you need is utter stupidity. No lock is bombproof and if someone REALLY wants your bike they'll get it one way or another (even if they have to wait for you to unlock it), so really it's about creating enough deterrent - and a couple of Krypto D locks are pretty good for that.
I either carry two heavy locks or nothing. If I don't have one at all then I don't end up making stupid decisions - having a cheap/weak lock is worse than having none. I would definitely never lock my road bike up anywhere, with anything - it's either with me or I don't go.
