so pancake day is actually the day when women refuse to bake because it's their day 'off' so men had to take up arms (pans?) in the kitchen and sort themselves out with a tasty flour based treat no thanks to their lazy spouses.
being the canny sods that us men are of course it seems we conjured up a simple, efficient dish requiring no effort to concoct but allowing infinite room for perfecting the technique that also allowed for shows of manly manual dexterity by 'flipping' said treats high aloft in the air and catching them again, like a boss.
International womens day? I say nay, it should be "ok, ok, woman, you can have a bloody day off, don't worry I'll sort it out, how hard can it be anyways... where do we keep the eggs?... well that was bloody easy I don't know what on earth you were complaining about in the first place but those pancakes are bloody tasty even if i do say so myself, i won't bother showing you how to make them as they're quite tricky, don't worry I'll do them for us again next year love" day.
that's what I'd call it.
