  • good to see you sticking with the garish bartape. You and Xander have matching bikes now, how cute.

  • I had mine first! by around a week... Matt ride it to beers tomorrow, im bringing mine

  • ... Wanna challenge a GM friend of mine who is diagnosed as being 'special' but can play you while blindfolded and with his back facing you?

    GM?

To me that reads as genetically modified... and giving mcc_t some sort of really complicated reach-a-round, as 'punishment' for being such a bad boy.

turns safe search off and googles an appropriate image

  • New frame arrived last week so built this up - just waiting on a chain. Will give it a blast at HH this weekend all being well.

And yes, i know the valve is in the wrong place on the front wheel, i laced it up half asleep and can't be arsed to change it yet.

Nice. I wouldn't worry about the valve, my first wheel build had one off too and I never really bothered me.

Oh I also had a thought on the whole aero vs round debate for your seatpost. What about something in the middle, along the lines of those old campag and DA aeros?

The lightweight PX one might work.

  • Decathlon, £5! It's end of the line though now so when its gone its gone!

I have the same bar tape on a set of road bars that are now sat in my cupboard, and as Sumo said my trademark seems to be garish bar tape so it was ideal!

great bar tape. where'd you get it?

Yeah i have plans for the Alpina Wing TT seatpost but maybe that's been a bit overdone on these frames?

I know Ambrosio make one aswell, any others?

*goes off to check out the PX one...

No unfortunately i won't be bringing this to beers - i only want it to see the track so it will be living in my room and going in the car when i go to HH, plus this also gives me an excuse to use the car as it just seems to sit there nowadays :-(

  • I will only be bring it to beers this week. i drove it down to hh on saturday and shall continue to drive it down there!

  • Don't you have a flip flop hub? Spinny one side, winny the other, swap round when you get there. Less driving...

  • Decathlon, £5! It's end of the line though now so when its gone its gone!

Buy it all up now, sell as NOS at profit later, claiming it's Italian ;)

Actually it only has sprocket on one side! weight saving innit ;)

  • hey dont be using art school owl on me!
Oh by the way im going to drive to beers tomorrow with my bike in the car, then walk it over wearing a cycling cap and some sidis

  • No brakes? Or did Xander plum for the "drilled version" of the forks?

  • Well I presumed not, but with a spinny cog you can do without brakes. Even I can do brakless on 48x19 or lower. Especially for just riding to the track.

Ha ha! I thought that meme was basically your lifestyle Xander?

I think the 'turning up to drinks in motor vehicles' niche is already taken...

  • Ah my appologies buddy, i thought you were referring to him putting a freewheel on the other side lol, i insulted your intelligence...

    *goes to get coat...

  • Hold on, you thought he was going to fit a freewheel to a brakless tarck bike?!

You shouldn't be apologising to me ;)

  • Ok lets clear some things up here! the forks are undrilled carbon ones too big for any clamp on brake!
the rear hub only has threading on one side for one sprocket so im just using it on the track and shorter journeys around town to show off on. the ratio is 48x15

  • All you need to do now is put on some super soft, no puncture protection, tyres that aren't suitable for road use and you've got the perfect trinity of excuses :)

  • hi ;)

please help me... I have a dilema. Today i was working on my bikes (trying to solve a hub problem) and i tried this black wheel (while i was trying to solve the front hub problem - silver weinmann wheel).
Now i can't decide if i must have the bike with black rims or silver ones.
With silver rims i was not very pleased with the black chainring but now this black rim made me enjoy the chainring.
please let me know your opinium

ps: the black rim is a Mavic Open Pro that i've painted

  • black rims

  • ^boy speaks the truth

  • black rims

well, i think i'm more into that choice
argh!!! that means i must spend more money... :)

  • spring is getting close and i dont have a decent roadbike yet, so i bought this off ebay

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&hash=item2eb36d5ee1&item=200578784993&nma=true&pt=Road_Bikes&rt=nc&si=XEyuiZswWGWjECNeG%252BY92BfK0io%253D

didnt find too much info on this model, except that marco pantani has rode nearly the same frame some year... double butted 7005 heat treated alu handmade in italy, should be good or not? i think ill try putting campy chorus and 90s zondas on it and see how it looks

  • black ftw!
