  • Some stats from today if anyone's interested.

    Time in motion: 1:35
    Total distance: 34.6 miles
    Average speed: 21.7 mph
    Average cadence (48 x 15) 87 rpm
Max Speed: 33 mph, 133 rpm (that was the last lap of the rotation in the first half).

  • ^I was wondering about that, no perception of pace riding in a group that size.

  • ^^ yeah a whole saturday session usually amounts to around 30-35 miles, I worked that out a few years ago by counting the laps!

Just out of interest, how did you get these stats? did you ride with a garmin/are we allowed?

  • I use a Cateye V3 (speed, cadence, HR). I'm pretty sure we're allowed to use them, I've not heard otherwise.

  • The actor* who played Tyres O'Flaherty the frazzled courier in Spaced was watching the morning session

Not a great idea to have anything which may distract you while riding, but ok if you tape over any readout/screen and look at stats when the session is over.

An excellent, fun, safe first day.

    Yes, me too

  • who is coachhouse?

  • one of the nice friendly coaches!

  • there are so many that i am lost!
i don't even know their names apart from Simon JC and Peter and that's it. the other ones are really nice too. I love yellow jersey PE teacher!

  • coachhouse is the flashy one with the expensive kit;)

  • pinarello one?

  • flashy? moi?

  • He's the kinda guy you'd expect to see driving a caterham 7, wearing a cravat and winking at the ladies.

  • my Sunday activity has been exposed.

  • teeny little observation - If you're turning up for an induction on the track then there's a reason you're being assesed - Primarily for your safety and the safety of others on the track

When one of the coaching staff mentions your riding style and capabilities to you then take heed - don't mouth off like a slapped child [Yup, I'm talking to a particular 5th floor 'crew' member]

My safety and your safety on the track depends on this so try listening to coach eh!

    ooof.

    Does that narrow it down?!

  • Does that narrow it down?!

    This does:
