  • IMHO, There are many factors in determining whether a budget is appropriate for a job: in this case the complexity, time frame, Inclusion of materials/print costs, hand labour (simple hardback or special binding/format. To be fair I always hear a client out before giving a good quote that I think I deserve in return for my skills and hard work! I understand what cedywedy is saying on the basis that there are people out there who want to pay very little for good work and try to get away with it, sadly they do as sometimes people are desperate for work. this does lower the Market rate and leave lots of freelancers frustrated! But I believe in getting what you pay for, if a client is appreciative of what I can do, I'm willing to work out an appropriate budget.

    For design work depending on lvl of skill I would say ranging btw £10 to £20 an hour?
