I've been having trouble with a wheel I built with spokes too long because they were knocking about. I was riding it for a few months without any problem but recently its been playing up.
The rim is double walled and none of the spokes protrude past the outer wall of the rim. I have recently had two punctures with holes which look like they could have been made by a spoke and am now wondering what the problem is.
How far into the spoke hole is the inner tube likely to poke?
If the spokes are over 3mm away from the outer wall, should this be an issue?
