I am thinking about going for Truvativ Omniums as I think they will suit the frame and they are meant to be super stiff. However I have heard reports of crank slap on frames with thicker chain stays. The Hinde frame has mahusive stays. They are rectangular though, so maybe they will be thinner then an oval of the same size, hmm.

any thoughts or advice for better cranks?

This doesn't sound right. What kind of a frame is made with stays so wide that cranks with a 42mm chainline and a wide Q?
