my stepfather, god rest his soul.. went to the local hamza cash and carry and bought six month food supplies in late 1999.. mind you the imam at his mosque (shacklewell lane) was preaching end of the world every friday with new instructions for armagedon, even though he insisted on buying a lottery ticket for the draw on saturday... lolz
i think i got 3 kilos of dates for christmas that year.. was quite funny really..
