**CROSS POSTING ALERT.
**Sorry.I know we're keen for a ladies ride and I'm sure there will be lots coming up. So on that note the lovely Skully is keen for some women to join his jaunt to Cambridge in the interested of keeping these rides non-blokey.
This aside, it'll be an awesome day out! -

^ and in support !! Cambridge is a great first ride; for the summer, and in general; not too hilly, beautiful rolling country side...and what looks like a really nice crew forming. to any newbies...I highly recommended it, plus you'll meet some of us ladies at March drinks the week before too : )

Hi, I'm also a newbie and keen.
edit: But it now turns out I'll be cycling in spain the same week, so out.

Alas I am a lazy free-wheeler and won't meet the strict fixed only rules for the Cambridge ride. But the road out to Windsor is also pretty flat and depending which way you go, some great views across Windsor Great Park.
Longandwinding - more than happy to lend a hand coralling people for a ride out there later in the season, if you like.

re the "fixed" rule - I honestly don't think anyone actually cares - this is the first time I've seen it enforced. maybe we could negotiate...come on your freewheel, but only allowed to coast down hills. ha!
personally I couldn't give a horses ass what everyone is riding. but that's me : ) -

Looks like 25th at the Roebuck then.
shall I amend the thread title?

What's the bike security like there?
Row of bike racks in the central reservation (pitfield street is a funny road) which you can see from the pub

Ah, so it's close to Old St? Could Boris Bike up there from work and back and leave my bike in the safety of the underground world.
Or have we settled on the Roebuck?

personally I couldn't give a horses ass what everyone is riding. but that's me : )If I come to cambridge I'll probably be SS, don't worry about it. Skully has already said he is only enforcing it so the gearies don't race off. Since there's 2 hopes (Bob Hope and No Hope) of me doing that I don't think its a problem.
Oh and defo up for Roebuck on 25th.

And Bob's out of town, huh? Likewise. I don't think I risk leaving the pack behind. Have put my name down - hopefully see you there.

I'm in. I love the Roebuck, so I'm definitely in favour of going there. Looking forward to meeting some of you again!

Roebuck or George & Vulture...? Am worried about stepping on toes/upsetting people!
-
• #195
Either pub is fine with me. I think this is the same night as critical mass - any interest in joining cm after a quick drink?
-
• #196
Where is the George & Vulture?
-
• #197
doesn't matter which pub - we'll go to the other one next! (maybe next on in May though - isn't end of April looking a bit busy...? blimey can't believe it's that time already. why is it so effing cold?!)
-
• #198
either pub is also good for me, won't be hitting CM though - it's just one rolling trackstand for me... :-)

Where is the George & Vulture?
End of Pitfield Street opposite the Boris Bike parking

Thanks Clara.
Locationwise, I'd favour the Roebuck of the two.
Hello, newbie here - would it be rude to gatecrash...?
