miche axles are also quite easy to strip the threads on (mild steel), and they are proprietary to the hubs and impossible to order seperately from the distro - i'm still looking for a replacement for a rear wheel.
I think they also use their own cog carrier system, but they might have changed that...
Good enough hubs though.
have you considered going second hand? With modern hubs you can generally easily replace the worn parts (cartridge bearings), and it would obviously offer significantly better value for money
