...very old 3-sp Sturmey Archer AW hub ...Like ed says though, don't shift when pedalling or you'll pull the cable clamp apart (done it twice now...)

Is this only true of the old ones, or is it the same with all of them? I thought changing gear when not pedalling was a bonus, not a must???
