Oh yeah man of course, I know I could have found cheaper parts elsewhere and gone for some secondhand stuff but I really wanted that new car smell ;) I did go a little crazy ono some parts too, the monster chainring was a bit silly.

You could definitely build a super nice bike sub one grand but I don't think you could build a full NJS build now for that price. NJS stuff just has way to much hipster tax on it.

But not unless you know where to 'compromise', i.e.: why spend over a grand on a frame?... get a good used, try and find if you know anyone going to Japan, i dunno. I know of someone now in Japan, visiting, with the intention of buying a frame, or maybe 2. Just an example, if you're really into getting it -> find solutions, I for one try instead of dishing out dorrah I don't have... even if I had... ;)
Some of you will just read this like, "yeah, but I want it there, that minute..." fair enough, pay the price. :)
My builds do tend to take some time. But I don't care much, maybe if you do it'll be quicker.

Another example, taking advantage of sales, TFG is on SALE for loads of NJS bits (colored)... you just need to utfB ;D
