after seeing some of the 'hello' posts i thought id better introduce myself properly,
Firstly im a father of 3 daughters, and a husband. Along with the regulation mortgage, job (railways) 2 dogs and 5 cycles. 1fixie Mongoose Maurice. An old Alpinestars Almega DX MTB, a Raleigh hybrid, and a self build MTB (which i may convert to a single speed of roader, and an old Raleigh Racer which im playing with in the cellar/bike shop.
Friends at work think im mad even looking at a Fixed Gear never mind owning one, and as for commuting 12 to work on it......
im riding fixed, however still using 2 brakes till i get used to skidding, i can slow myself down but not enough to stop an accident, i suppose ill get better in time and with some clips/straps. i do ride on SPDs on the hybrid and alpinestars, but i fancy a change.... ill leave that for now and look forward to your comments/jokes/insults. im used to most things working on the railway gives you a thick skin, and having a wife and 3 daughters and even thicker hide...
