No, nothing to do with me.
Which one of the three was that? Probably Palace Cycles.
There are a few fixed riders in Carlisle, judging by the number of fixies I see locked up in the town centre. There are more amongst the racing fraternity here but hey don't ride them in town. I returned to riding fixed about a year ago. Most of my fixed riding is in and around Carlisle, Brampton and Longtown. Not too hilly, just gentle rolling countryside ideal for fixed, I did try it in around Ambleside once but it was just too hilly to comfortably ride a fixed gear.
yup palace, apart from scotby the only other proper bike shop, the others are for bodging/ fixing argo's & asda bikes IMO.
I've seen one modern alu frame that was SS/fixed tied up in town a few months back, could have been a giant or scott or something of that order.
Yes, fixed with as many hills as these is a bit like hard work. I'm finding fixed is brilliant for town as you don't have to keep reaching for the brakes every 5 seconds, just sit up and look out for the wallies trying to run me down :/
project mystery bob is going 6speed, found a minty set of arabesque shifters & mech's for a couple of quid locally, and already have a brand new 600 6speed block going spare :D

Can anyone help me out?
This is my "Tossini" that I bought last year.
Now I really should have done some homework before I bought this guy, with a name like Tossini it must be an Italian frame right, and look - there's an SLX sticker.
However it wasn't until I gave it a bit of a service that I realised he wasn't who he's pretending to be. First off - the tubing is pretty nice, light with a good "ping" and takes a 27.2 seatpost - but it ain't SLX as there's no rifling down the seat-tube. It also takes a british threaded BB, so the chances of it being Italian are greaty diminished!
That said - it's still a lovely bike and I'm planning on respraying it soon as the paint is really showing it's age. It's probably been resprayed at least once in it's life as there's evidence of sandblast in the seat-tube.
My theory is that it's probably a 60's/70's Dutch/Belgian frame that someone bought in the 80's and "Italianisised" it as was the fashion. If anyone could throw any light over it I would greatly appreciate it... the lug's in particular are pretty unique:(although badly painted!)
Thanks very much!

series number?
If only it was that simple Ed... no serial that I can see. I've had a lot of bikes including my Concorde track that didn't have a serial.
"75" is stamped on the top of the seat lug - That'll be the angle right?

just wanted to say that. thanks for reading ;)haha - yes they're lovely! I'm planning on putting on some old Campag pista's when I get it resprayed - that is if my hunch is right and the frame is from an earlier period.
Though I'm not letting them go! I need to get hold of a pair of original dust caps for them - do you know where to look?

Pedal Atleten is danish. They're still going: http://pedalatleten.dk/ Maybe they know something. Or else try the danish track bike forum: http://fixie-king.dk/forum/index.php
Thank you, maybe I should have written that I am danish my self.
Bought the frame in Copenhagen (the seller said it had been resprayed). The guys who currently own Pedal Atleten are quite clueless when it comes to the shops history as velodrome sponsor... I hope Cinelli can help it does not have a danish frame-number only 42U is stamped in to the bb shell -

Hi Chris87. This probably isn't the right thread for you to find a road bike. Perhaps ask here: http://www.lfgss.com/thread46545.html

angle of the lug doesnt mean its the actual frame angle setting

A Chorus "A-B" mech to be precise. It can be set in two positions depending on whether you are running close ratio gears or wide range touring gears.

But it's probable right? Infact it actually reads "75A". Could it mean something else? Perhaps a lug manufacturer?
-
• #1192
It depends, it's entirely possible that the lug was bent to a different angle to suit the particular geometry of that frame.
i don't know if 75 degrees is typical of a track frame or not though.. -

no a lot of lugs have the angle cast in ,although 75 seat is quite normal for a track frame
How did you check for slx tube flutes ? -

How did you check for slx tube flutes ?Well firstly I took the bb off and felt inside the seat tube... Couldn't feel any rifling! So then had a good look inside and no sign! It also doesn't sound like SLX when you ping it.

^I like those.. Some guy had a bunch of 'm for sale on ebay some time ago (mid December?).. Wanted one, couldn't because he wouldn't ship abroad (Netherlands for christ sake), to late contacting friend on here, frame of my size gone.. It was a very sad day..
#useless comment..
I do concur with you guessing it's a Prince Pista, they look pretty alike..
The problem is TNT Post in the Netherlands have changed the max dimension for international packages to 50 x 50 x 100 this January. This is really bad news when shipping a frame because it means you have to pay a lot more...
