  • I've a small garden but as above, if you drop anything there are a lot of nooks and crannies for it to get lost in.

  • I got a path outside mine which at least once a week is littered with bikes and bits.

  • Could do it at mine - plenty of space outside on drive, a garage, workstand, tools and a beer bench. Only it's in Brundall.

  • We could ride to Brundall, no worries. Good chance to finally meet up with you as well.

  • Cool. Let me know when you fancy doin' it.

  • Made the call on Friday after work, and they said there were some white contaminations in the finish which they thought could be buffed out. Turned out it was worse than they thought so they are doing it all again! Winner. Now that is service 

  • Just had confirmation! Gonna pick it up at 2:30! Yay. Will post some pics later on.

  • Looking forward to seeing this. Need to do Kirsty's before the summer comes.

  • Got it yesterday. Took the long route on the fixed, then came back a slightly alternative route. 25 mile round trip, half of which with a BMX frame, forks and bars buckled down in my messenger bag. Job looks decent. Will post some pics tonight when i have built and serviced the old girl.

  • Am I right that only the colours on that second list are the ones that they might have in stock from other jobs? I'm a bit confused. I need to find a colour that is on both as the second list is to trace stocks.

  • Yeah you need to go for what is in stock. The list is what was in stock a year ago. Think what base colour you want (ie red blue etc) look it up on th list then trace the different tones. Let me know if ya get stuck.

  • Colorcote Ref 2 **RAL / BS No. **5013 **Gloss Level **GLOSS **Resin **POLY

This is looking good to me. Will be a month before I get to see it but Marks BMX looks good...except for the damage he's already done to it.

  • Hahaha, signs of affection!

  • Colorcote Ref 2 **RAL / BS No. **5013 **Gloss Level **GLOSS **Resin **POLY

Dya know what, i was gonna suggest something like that! Almost plug blue. Be it a mass made bike, there isa reason why they did it in blue! Loveit

  • Yeah I think If I can polish the forks up then it will look reet nice. Looking forward to coming back to it in a month.

Takes ages walking about and its to slow.

  • ...just to check the evolution of the powder coating/Colorcoting story.
News, updates, price list, colours, PICS, PICS, PICS, ...RAL, RAL, RAL, comments, opinions...
Do you know if they take single orders at Colorcote? Have you got a (recent) list of the colours available?...other places in/around Norwich?
    ThanX!

  • PM me if interested. Just had my BMX done. All black though so pic will do no justice. What sorta thi ng ya thinkinking?

  • Thanks! Still unable to PM (newbie, here). Essentially, I need somebody to convince me that powder coating a cheap (£111) and new (!) frame is actually a good idea...
Colour will not be black (...or red, blue, yellow) but some sort of weird subtle purple nuance ( a RAL/BS none will have in stock for sure)

  • We depending what colour ya go for depends on the price. I know its pretty much £45-£50 normally. Im going out there this week with Chris' frame. Will ask about them ordering in a kilo.

  • definitely not urgent! My frame will probably remain boxed in my friend's garage for a while...
Good to know they take these jobs (and not too expensive). Do you know if a specific RAL colour can be selected (+ extra charge)?

Have we set aside a date for this yet? My bike is so damn grubby from winter, It's gone orange in some bits too - mainly on the cog.

Think I'm going to buy some baby wipes at lunch and clean it up real good tonight.

  • Nothing much has gone on for a month or two. People have been hibernating.

I think the reason it is cheap is cos it is the stock colours they use for their contract customers. For example they do the orange woodchippers you see on the roadside when tree surgeons are working. Hence that i am sure orange will be cheaper! If you pick a colour thats not stock then i think you will ne looking at more than £100!!!!

Might be best to wait till the salt has gone from the roads. I'm commuting every day on mine, and by the weekends the salt is eating the bolts up, which means a complete clean down every saturday. But if you want to do it sooner, that's cool by me.

aaaaah!!! "Pearl black berry" does not sound as a typical roadsign colour. I'll contact them anyway to see what they have in stock. Cheeeeeers!
