Ha, funny you should say that, but I did the same thing the other week on the Brompton, again because of Jen's comments.
It's definitely true, cycling in heels is a lot easier than walking in them - I was suprised how easy it was!
Now to get some SPD's fitting to them...
It's in the casual SPD shoe thread but I've just bought and am waiting for some DZR Concubines. Wanted something casual that would work with SPD's and wouldn't look like an NHS special shoe like all the other ones I've ever tried - also couldn't be fucked with laces.
Will report back when I get them.
These arrived today, comfy so far, am wearing them without cleats for a bit to get used to them. The toe/ball section is definitely stiffened, the strap is made out of seatbelt material, so v.strong. They are a little heavy but not offensively so. They also come with rubber cleat covers for when you do wear them with cleats
