Near Dark was seriously underrated, one of Bigelow's best movies for sure. Speaking of Bigelow I really liked Strangedays. it got some really mixed reviews when it came out, but I loved it. Not seen it in a while so I'll be watching the DVD again some time this week.
Watched 'The Fighter' last week, pretty damn good film all round. Bale stole the show for sure, though I'm not convinced it worthy of an oscar, but then I haven't seen all the other nominated movies. An interesting thing I noted in the credits was that Darren Aronofsky was the executive producer.
Seen the posts about 'True Grit', which have not put me off at all, going to see that this week. Also will probably see 'Paul', I love the other Pegg and Frost movies so I'm hoping I won't be disappointed.
Just catching up with this thread again.
