  • Is Hugo Spanish?

No. It's a phase lot's of people used when I was in Bolivia. Usually just the first part, and probably because we'd always start asking for something with "es posible...". Anyway, it really struck a cord with me. I thought keeping it in the same language would be better than translating. Plus seguro, has lots of different uses.

I really like the idea of writing, but at the same time didn't want the text to be too much of a big thing, so I think it's come out perfectly.

Living in the jungle has been the place I felt most content. So I was after something that represented that and was reasonably timeless. In the original design I did ages ago, has a machete. But I scrapped it as I thought it would be too easily misconstrued as a violent object, rather than a practical one.

Overall I would have liked it a tiny bit lighter, but I was told it will lighten a little anyway. Plus I figured I'd defer to the artist judgement on technical use of colours.

Oh and I just realised I should give a plug to Anu at Shangri-la. Really great artist. Looking at her other stuff she does some great detail. Apparently she does a lot of angels, so if anyone is after that, check her out. Another good thing is she doesn't have a giant waiting list.
