My new winter/bad weather/commuter:
still need to do:
- get the starnut thing done and spacers sorted out.
- nokia a10
- mudguards
- selle san marco
Rides better than I expected so rly happy with it.
i love that, so annoying though when i see peoples beaters and they are better than my best bike

mdcc tester is right, butted spokes have less breakages than plain gauge ones.
I always thought that butted spokes were stronger (tensile strength), because of the plasic deformation during the manufacturing process ("butting").

incidentally I also acquired the Rigida rims as well, they look bloody tough.
Mine getting laced up to a Schmidt SON 28 hubs and Phil Wood touring hubs (135 shimano) with plain gauge spoke for strength/durablity.
also be getting stainless mudguard (chrome), Chris King headset, Shimano XTR V-brake (+ levers), and Thorn rear rack.
intended for epic tour only though, already have a commuter/workbike/tractor.
Sounds awesome, that should be a very reliable setup.
edit: regarding spokes ed, rohloff spokes are double butted, so if they recommend them, then surely they are your best bet.

I think I've seen a million of those at Giant.
I think they came/come standard with lots of bikes.
Go to yr local bike shop, you may get 10 pcs for free. -

82.6g?
You'd be better off making sure you've gone to the toilet before riding, more weight loss and cheaper.

Basically £1 per gram.
So if you do a 350g poo. Its like earning £350!

did a bit more to my peugeot, waiting for some proper gear levers that fit the frame from a mate, but my DIY set up works fine, not pritty though...
shes getting there!
this will be another budget thing, i want to spend as little as possible but it should be good fun just for riding fast
imagen the seat post down a inch(frames 3cm to small) bullhorns, about 47:15 ratio, front brake and 23c tires....

I was meant to be revising which hasn't been successful as I got distracted by the interwebs and now I'm putting together a polo-bike.
Saddle, risers and brakes to come. -
