  • This thread was closed for two reasons:

    1. a user posted my real name, although this was withdrawn after I requested that the user edit their comment. it was also reported
    2. it was getting out of hand; what was a bit of banter and mickey-taking was fast becoming nasty
    3. a user was sharing knowledge of my purchases on ebay
    4. the same user was posting comments that could be interpreted as threatening, this is in relation to the comments 'i have his name and flickr account'.

Thread closing is to indicate a sold item, not to give you a way to limit the discussion.

    As for your reasons:

#1 A quick Google of kukusi reveals your name. You put this info in the public domain and can't then demand it's removal elsewhere, that's just not how it works.

#2 No it wasn't. People used swear words in that thread like they use banter down the pub. Read it again in that light and it's obvious people are mucking around, part aghast at what you paid, but mostly looking out for you and wanting to avoid whatever shop sold you that bike under false claims.

#3 Relates to #1. eBay is a public website, the info is public, and as you already share that info you cannot then control it. Lesson here: Don't put anything online you don't want people to see, and assume that everything you put online is public: What goes on the internet, stays on the internet.

#4 Yeah, prancer is a twat at times and doesn't know when to shut up, nor how to not be thuggish in his language. But he is harmless. Wouldn't hurt a fly. Man up and ignore it.

    Anyway, thread open again.

Oh, and you requested account deletion. I can do that for you if you want, but you also requested post and thread deletion, but I won't do that. At the bottom of this page on the left you'll see a creative commons logo... what you posted on here, as per the user agreement when you signed up, is covered by a CC license. It remains public and shared. If you want to have your account deleted, then it's up to you to edit your posts prior to the deletion otherwise they will stay as they are post-account-deletion.
