What goes up must come down. So they are descending wheels as well. If you're doing that on butter smooth continental roads, that's one thing. Doing it on shite potholed bollox roads like we have here is quite another. Then again, I live in Surrey with its truly awful roads. Barely a ride goes by without some sort of spine crunching drop into a bucket in the road.
