For those who can manage long steady state sessions they can be very beneficial, especially early in the winter when the weather is poor.

Nothing hard about trying to do aerobic rides in sub zero temps on icy roads. Stupid but not hard.

I'm planning on coming tonight, I also hope there is room for one more fixed rider.

Of course, the correct equipment changes everything.
I coach a rider who simply doesn't do turbo, he has all the clobber for winter so doesn't get too cold. He did, however, miss a week's training after a fall on the ice and a subsequent cold.
Don't forget that the immune system takes a right battering if you are going out in all weathers, so you need to keep on top of that.

I know - it's even sunny today!
Intervals once a week can't hurt - a reminder of how to go hard amongst all the alleged winter miles. I don't think anyone would enjoy 3 hours of gentle miles on a turbo.
Oh...maybe not then. Pear tree is in chiswick, west London.
Couldn't make it this week but hopefully I'll get along next Thursday

Sort of yes, there appears to be something wrong with my legs though now. Definitely in for next week.
Thanks for the pointer to Honor Oak.

Headwind in to work, steps up to office, bleh.

My ride in to work was the slowest ever. Really tried not to push it at all. Having guilt free third breakfast for recovery reasons. Nom nom...
Have a good holiday Matt.

I posted this elsewhere, from my NormanBatesGotNoMates rollers session. I think JC knows what 1 & 5 mean, as he bought the same rollers as me, IIRC.

The good thing about doing an easy 3 hours on the turbo is you can have a bit of a smoke while your'e at it, to take your mind off the boredom :)

... and a cafe stop.
Nice one BMMF. The difference in the resistance is subtle, but after a minute or the difference becomes apparent!

Looking forward to the relative ease of next weeks endurance session.

Or a wank, but you have to keep an eye on your HR zones (and can suddenly become massively demotivated).

Thanks :)
25mph & 107rpm are well and truly burned into my synapses.

Yup. wuss.

Well he did rollaz on Tuesday, Tom...
I probably can't be arsed, as I want to do rides on Saturday and Sunday this week.

I'm undecided, Tuesday has killed me and my track bike BB appears to be goosed... hmmm....

Mentalist.
Turbo alone or TurboGazebo?
I'll endeavour to make it to HH.
