how about £5 entry fee and optional £5 charity donation? I mean, some people can afford to give to charity more than others so why should it be imposed?

thanks for all the feedback. i think it's been decided. there'll be a registration fee this year, that will all go to our designated charity. sponsorship funding will cover costs of the event.
