  • Before Torres, the strongest line up was

    Malouda Drogba Anelka

with varoius options behind them. Kalou would be a fresh pair of legs for the last 10 or 15 minutes. Sturridge and Kakuta also could provide this particularly in circumstnacves where Kalou started due to injury, illness or resting.

Torres Could play alongside Drogba or Anelka or, on occasions both. Malouda could drop back to mid field either in the hole or wide. On Chelsea TV last night, the speculation from Walker and Minto foresaw three up front and only disagreed on the positioning of Ramieres and Malouda.

Alternatively, Chelsea could play 442 or vary formation depending on who they were playing and the state of the game.

    By the way:

Kalou has started 10 league games so far this season and made 9 appearances as sub.

Anelka 19 starts and one as sub

    Drogba 20 and 2

    Malouda 22 and 1

    Kakuta 1 and 4

    Sturridge 22 all as sub

I couldn't make sense of those numbers, i just saw a list of overpaid bench warmers for an average mid table team
