keep it up dooks, those first few k are the hardest to get done, once you're past them the rest you just need to keep running and tacking a bit on the end as you go, you'll not find that it gets much harder then until you hit the long distances.
I found a good way to keep it up was to sign up for a few 5k races locally to give me something to train for. also running at a race is nothing like running on your own and you might find you can push yourself a lot further already than you can manage when it's just you and your thoughts to keep you company.
