FNV is REALLY sensitive to the choices you make too. I've been playing it good, but have inadvertently become hated by the Legion. I can trick them into not attacking me by wearing their garb, but their dogs and named NPCs suss me out.
Likewise the Rangers. I'm all cool with the NCR, but the Rangers attack on sight. I can't attack as it'll affect my reputation with the NCR.
It's weird though, as you become hardened you take liberties. Like I wanted a Ranger outfit (the one that's on the title screen), so I got busy with a silenced sniper rifle and picked one off in his lookout. I think this might have contributed to their hatred of me.
To be honest it's so engrossing I'm inclined to not even play the missions. If it was real life I'd fuck the war and just hole up with the Brotherhood. They've got a secret bunker for shelter, big guns, cool armour and no inclination to interact with the rest of the Wasteland scum. Either that or go native, move into an abandoned shack, feed myself by picking off mole rats with a Varmint Rifle, and make a few caps on the side by selling the hides. Sweet and simple.
Loving F:NV. I was a massive fan of Fallout 1 & 2, and never picked up Fallout 3, but for £15 in asda snapped up New Vegas. Absolutely loving it. It's funny how close it is to the originals, despite being a different perspective. Great to see some old faces like Marcus. I'm not far into it (just been to Boulder City), but spent so much time faffing around and exploring.
My trouble is I always end up making a bit on an unbalanced character on my first play through, so didn't get much joy with all the locked doors and terminals in the Repconn HQ.
