  • Well I run my own company, but lunch is normally soup/sandwich at desk. I don't really do lunch breaks unless I'm not very busy — breaks up my concentration.

.. unlike the forum, which of course is awesome for keeping my concentration levels up :/

  • Fair enough. I'm freelance... understand.

    Where you based for work?

  • Welcome. Groll was the name of an FRP character of a friend of mine who died under suspicious circumstances

Thank you. That one was faked with an invisibility cloak, iirc.

I like the sound of this FttL - I'm based in Bloomsbury and pretty flexible timing-wise.

Not really, he was told by a fellow party member to go downstairs into a basement. 'Just go down, Groll. It is safe.' He was then eviscerated by the orcs hiding to the left and right of the door. Relations between the two players were never quite the same again. :)

    (Only kidding--they're good friends.)

Sorry I couldn't make it today, Ben. Is Friday lunchtime good for anyone (except for Dan, that is)?

Gruesome, I only hope there was some honour attached.

    Friday would be fine.

  • I've got a shoot in Battersea at 9.30, should be finished by lunch though.

  • I can do Tuesday lunch, impending labour and travel arrangements allowing.

I'm in a plaster cast though so am limited to train travel. Unless you fancy the Regent here in HH?

Office on Marylebone High St atm. Is rather nice - office is basically a box but I'm not paying anything for it :)

  • I don't really have the time to go down to HH, Matt. Another week, sure! I'd prefer something central for tomorrow. What about you, Dan?

  • Fair cop Oliver, I didn't know if it was a lunch break thing or an afternoon.

  • ah tomorrow I'm having lunch with my Mum, so out of action I'm afraid. This will happen soon though.

  • Any advance on 1230 at the Fitzroy Tavern? Or Mabel's?

  • Sorry, guys, Internet connection went down this morning and as a result I'm now way behind--sorry. Let's try again next week!

  • And thus was no advance made, but a few rounds of Set with unwitting office-mates led nicely on to a productive and beerless afternoon.

  • Set
    Is this a game?

Oliver and I had a few good games of FTTL on Rolla night.

Now got the cards for the new game which needs beta testing.

    Pretty free next week.

    Ha, win.

Let's definitely do next week. I'll be a little more co-ordinated by then, too. Tuesday lunchtime?

  • By the way, Ben, have you already got FttL edition 2? I forgot to ask you (as per January FttL update).

  • Is Set a game?

It is, good for loud environments, quiet times or people who don't have much small talk to toss around. Also good for its more intended audience, being people who like spotting patterns. Twelve cards on the table, each with four attributes: the number, shape, colour and shading of their symbols. When you see three cards that on each attribute are all the same or all different, you claim them as a set. Replenish form the deck and play til they're all gone. Most sets wins.

You can see it here, though it is much beautifuller in real life.

    Tuesday lunchtime?

    Works for me.

  • I now have a morning meeting on Tuesday but should still be able to make it for lunchtime somewhere.

  • Hello Oliver, hello Ben. I spent all night playing Cold v. Insomnia and am not up for games this lunchtime, sorry. Gutted.

  • I'm recovering from a nasty stomach bug, not up for leaving the house today.

  • OK--now you lot suggest a date and time. :)

    Get better soon, Ben!

  • Provisional bump. Would anyone be up for FTTL next week? Ben and I are keen. That said, I haven't asked Ben how he's fixed for next week, but I know he's keen.

  • Pandemic, best board game I've played in a long while.

  • Do you have a copy?

Yes I'm keen. Apart from the Thursday 16th evening (LCC AGM - I'm guessing you'll be there to Oliver).

Also want to play a game of Werewolves, though this needs seven+ people.
