• Funny you should say that, we did power Scalextric with the Rollapaluza rigs back in 2008 as a research thing, worked OK, more about regulating speed than effort.....we nearly got to the point of hiring a professional model-maker to create pedalling cyclists to sit on top of existing "chassis".....oh well, what might've been!

    This idea I like. Have you ever linked the rigs up to some sort of computer simulation so you can run sprint races or other track disciplines?

    One of the problems with the Scalextric is that regulating speed in order to stop the vehicle flying off at the curves doesn't really have that much to do with track cycling.
