Hey Oliver, whats this about being in SA anyway. On your profile it says you're in Fulham, and if you were in SA you wouldn't have to be waiting until summer, because it is summer over there.

After 3 months working at Evans, I finally get my staff discount, and went for a brand new Veloce brakeset for the pricey sum of £21.02, result;
(The original single pivot Chorus was really appalling with modern brake hood).
when did you get a 'nago, Ed?

Ok, so I have dropped the Fort off to have the BB installed (would have done myself but lack of BB tool and grease meant the LBS was an easier option today, they're pretty sound too). Just need to pick up some tyres now and it is FINISHED! Pics to follow today or tomorrow!
My LBS charges £10.00 to fit tyres if your interested.

age ago from the forum from next to nothing, and eventually upgraded the old heavy Chorus component to 2010 Centaur.
The original were fine, a quick clean up and it was beautiful to look at, but I wasn't comfortable with it after borrowing my dad's Centaur-equipped bicycle, so went for a full upgrade (the bike end up being MUCH lighter afterware).
original;
now (at work, still need to add barape and general tweak);

The Fizik looks good. Do it on both sides. 'Problem' solved.
+1.
I also have these bars with Black Fizik.
It works.

Hopefully getting my hands on Flickwg's GT frame this weekend.
Thinking of going for a Syncros seatpost black 27.2, the old style (But if not then a new one). Any reason I should be dissuaded and go for say a Thomson?
It also has a Cougar track fork, as I will be using a brake in Brighton but not at home and see no reason to drill it, what would a decent alternative be for a 1" fork. Eventually I would like to put on a Wound Up fork, but they are hella expensive. Minimal rake, carbon or alu. suggestions?
Finally torn on whether to spend the extra 11.99 on a Stronglight track 2000 over the mygal on PX.

This is what I am about to start riding. The frame is a Gitane, 1970s or 1984/5 'retro' as far as I can tell. Rim tape + lockring, tighten it all up and away. With the luck reserved for beginners I appear to have a straight chainline :D

Probably not going to be an issue - it's >400g heavier than my old Easton set up, so any lift generated has to overcome that first.

But is it also UCI-proof and isn't that the reason why it's cheap?
Not that UCI rules are that important... -

Not many more bits to get, just saddle, bars, bb, chain and pedals. Should be nice, although way of the 5.5kg I was aiming for. Should still be under 6kg though.
Looks like a solid build, especially considering the weight.
I'd probably go with something like the parts below. They are'nt the lightest options. But they arent mad money (silly money, but not mad), and they should be pretty solid (I have the square taper version of the BB, its done me proud). Thats me though. I very much doubt we weigh or ride exactly the same.
Saddle - Tune speed needle
Chain - KMC-D101
BB - Token Tiramic ISIS
Bars - New ultimate drops
Pedals - Bebop Ti (assuming SDP style wanted)Wiggle had 20% off handlebars last weekend, so this had to be done, to go on the Koga.
Wow.
Nice area to rest your thermal coffe cup on your morning commute. clever.

Not that UCI rules are that important...This never makes stuff as cheap as you'd expect. Pro level gear that the pro's cant use? Sounds like it would be a bargin. But its the pot bellied middle age men that buy the silly priced carbon, and we're not racing (sucks in tummy) ;)
I remember the Deda Synapsi was/was going to be banned. I really wanted one. It has a built in hook for hanging your bike on the wall.

Currently thinking
Saddle - SLR (maybe stripped)
Chain - KMC X9 SL (or Miche track if 1/8th)
BB - Stronglight twister Ti
Bars - EC90 classic bend
Pedals - DA or maybe Ultegra
