I think you have misunderstood. In terms of a good deed Nikola's actions were commendable. My concern is that plod may not be so charitable and assume that the bike was stolen, it has been bought as stolen goods and that the buyers conscience has got the better of them...
There is a distinction between moral and legal that you do not appear to understand.
